Born in the Hague, the Netherlands
Grew up in a musical family. Early
intrests for music and sport. Living
close to the beach of the Hague, Henk
found recreation and inspiration in the
nature.
The explosion of the pop music in the
sixties was all around him. His guitar
became his best friend. In early age he
composed his own songs, unusual in
structure of melody and changes of
rythme. Together with his brother he
formed “Les Hirondelles”, a duo which
within short became popular on the
stages of the Hague.

Henk Beck
He also formed a group called the
Mystical Brotherhood, with his sister
and two other musicians. They soon
had a record contract with Polydor
due to Henks own music. The famous
Paul Acket, who started the North
Sea Jazzfestival, took care of the
group.
Open minded for all genres of music,
Henk wanted though to study the
classical guitar. This took him to the
Royal Conservaotium of the Hague.
Trough travelling North, he found
love in Sweden and moved there in
the late senventies. From now on he
composed a lot of music, ballads and
lyrics inspired of the flow of life,
nature, love....He also composed his
songs for symphonic orchestra.Within
soon he was on tour through whole
Sweden, with his concertprogram
“SYMPOPHONY”.
Henk started his own recordlabel Day &
Night Records and publish company
Beck Music. The first production was an
own album called Day and Night with
Beck songs arranged for symphonic
orchestra and where Henk himself was
playing the guitar, piano and singing.
Songs from this album were also
performed av other artists around the
world. The song Dragonfly was recorded
by the famous Chinese artist Andy Lau,
who got “Asia Pacific Most Popular
Hong Kong Male Artist" award 15 times
and who also played in 160 films.
Henk also recorded the singles Lily and
Picture of Life.
Other big things in life, being a father,
sports, country living made him choose
for not touring anymore. Music still was
there in mind. Some years ago he
started composing again, Music and
lyrics flew out. One after another,
Back in music again!
